Doctorial Perspectives

We are Pentecostal in perspective and fundamental in doctrine. This means in the first place that we accept the whole Bible rightly divided as the inspired and infallible Word of God (the New Testament is our rule for government and discipline). We believe: (1) holiness to be God’s standard of living for his people (Leviticus 11:45; 19:2; Hebrews 12:14); (2) in the virgin birth and deity of Jesus Christ (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:34); (3) in the literal resurrection of the body (1 Corinthians 15:32); (4) in the atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross for the sins of the world (1 John 2:2; Romans 3:25; Hebrews 10:12); and (5) in the pre-millennial second coming of Christ in bodily form (Acts 1:11) – first, to resurrect the dead believers and to catch away the living believers to him in the air (1 Corinthians 15:52; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17: 2 Thessalonians 2:1 and second, to reign on earth a thousand years (Zechariah 14:4; 1 Thessalonians 1:7 – 10; Jude 14 –15; Revelation 5:10; 19:11 – 21; 20:4 – 6). This is what we believe not only in creed, but also in practice and with a lively hope.

The New Testament Church of God subscribes to the following five foundational Christian doctrines:

  1. The inerrancy and infallibility of the Bible.
  2. The virgin birth and complete deity of Christ.
  3. The atoning sacrifice of Christ’s death for the sins of the world.
  4. The literal resurrection of the body.
  5. Christ’s second coming in bodily form to earth.
